Considers the approach of the Scottish Parliament in passing legislative consent motions allowing the British Parliament to legislate in devolved areas for Scotland, in relation to the Gender Recognition Bill and the Civil Partnership Bill, then before the UP Parliament at Westminster. Suggests that this method of legislating for Scotland is to be deprecated in the era of devolution.

Keywords:   Devolved issues, Gender recognition, Divorce and annulment, Consummation and impotency, Civil partnership, Voidable marriages and civil partnerships
