Under Oath: Secrecy, Perjury and the Social Bond
This chapter argues that secrecy is a condition of the social bond. It develops a close reading of Derrida’s later engagements with Levinas and Lacan in particular, as well as an extended consideration of Simmel’s treatments of secrecy and society.
