This chapter discusses Cixous' idea of having ‘others’ write her books for her. It shows that while Cixous signs her name in each of her books, she believes that she is capitalising on the work of another. The chapter also notes some of the events, people, and places that have affected Cixous which have eventually ended up in one of her works. It also introduces the concepts of other-books and the book-I-don't-write.
